Industrial Chimney Maintenance Inc. has developed an inspection system which allows clients to obtain digital images of the interior of their chimneys while the boilers/furnaces are on line. In these examples, the chimneys have flue gases entering the liner at temperatures in excess of 600°F. In some cases, our inspectors are required to work under pressurized air to ensure their safety.
The hot camera stainless steel enclosure contains four high resolution digital cameras mounted at 90°.Engineered scaffolding is installed at the top of the chimney to provide a temporary working platform for the inspection work. A custom made davit beam is also mounted at the top of the chimney to lower the camera enclosure into the hot gas stream.
As can be seen in some of the photographs, detailed documentation of the condition of the liner interior is obtained for the full height of the chimney. This information is invaluable to the client in planning decisions regarding future shutdown repair work.
